Welcome and my best regards-

America’s fatal attraction – turned- dependency to prescription pain meds (to address the slightest physical discomfort) has now become a true national epidemic. Prescription pain relievers such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine and fentanyl (otherwise known as OPIODS) have become so frequently prescribed by most docs nationwide that the same highly addictive drugs have officially taken over the top stop of national statistics – and the streets! According to ASAM The American Society of Addiction Medicine, in 2012, 259 million prescriptions were written for opioids, which is more than enough to give every American adult their own bottle of pills. On Thursday, August 10th, 2017 The Health Department declared a national emergency over the opioid epidemic. 91 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose in America, due to both prescription painkillers and illicit drugs. Drug overdose is the leading cause of death in the United States killing more people than gun violence and car crashes combined. If you want to know how we got here, there’s one simple explanation: It’s much easier in America to get high than it is to get proper help and treatment.

According to a study published in the America Journal of Preventative Medicine the economic cost of opioid use in America is an estimated $78.5 billion annually. The current epidemic has been linked in part, to aggressive drug marketing by pharmaceutical companies in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s that promoted opioids as the great panacea for pain! Then illicit drug traffickers followed suit, flooding the country with heroin and other illegally produced opioids that people could use once they ran out of painkillers or wanted something stronger. All of this made it very easy to obtain and misuse drugs. But despite an increasing recognition of the problem in recent years, one in three Americans still receive an opioid prescription and that doesn’t even take into account the illegal drug usage. “Houston, we have a problem!”

There are two sides of the opioid crises. On one hand, you have the current stock of opioid users who are addicted; the people in this population need treatment or they will simply find other, potentially deadlier opioids to use if they lose access to painkillers. And on the other hand, you have to stop new generations of potential drug users from accessing and misusing opioids. To reverse the devastating impact of the opioid epidemic multifaceted strategies must be implemented. First and foremost is educating physicians, other health professionals, and the public about appropriate uses and dangers of opioids. A team approach may be employed for pain management in which chiropractors, physical therapists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, homeopaths etc. work together to provide the most effective outcome for the patient. Imagine a drugless way to feeling better naturally! Secondly, the federal government needs to continue to fund addiction care. The opioid antidote naloxone could be made more accessible across the country. And thirdly, the US government must also reduce the supply of opioids available on the streets by stopping Mexican and Chinese traffickers, the two largest suppliers of heroin and fentanyl, respectively from moving their drugs across American borders.

Addiction is a multifaceted public health problem that cannot be attributed to a single cause and reversing its impact does not have a simple solution. 91 Americans lose their lives every day and this number will increase! Failure to take action is NOT an option.

U.S. Stem Cell to focus on and expand in-clinic therapies
Courtesy of Kristin Comella (CSO) of U.S. Stem Cell, Inc.

Sunrise, FL – June 19, 2017 – (OTC:USRM) U.S. Stem Cell, Inc., a leader in the regenerative medicine, cellular therapy industry providing physician based stem cell therapies to human and animal patients as well as a developer of novel autologous cell therapies, announces an aggressive plan to expand an additional 12 stem cell treatment centers and clinics in the US. US Stem Cell has been in discussions with the FDA regarding Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy (RMAT) Designation for the Myocell product and at this time, the company has decided not to further invest in RMAT Designation and instead invest and focus on our in-clinic therapies for patients.

According to the 21st Century Cures Act, within one year of enactment, the FDA must issue draft guidance clarifying how the FDA will evaluate devices used in the recovery, isolation, or delivery of regenerative advanced therapies. Until this guidance document is published, it is unclear how this regulation will affect the MyoCell program. Until then, U.S. Stem Cell will focus on opening new clinics around the country to better serve patients in need. In addition to the original Sunrise clinic (that has successfully treated hundreds of patients and generated over $2m in revenues in the past 12 months alone), recent clinic openings include Miami and Palm Beach, Florida. Upcoming openings include Dallas, Texas (thanks in part to the early adoption of patient rights by the State of Texas), Chicago, Atlanta and Denver—as well as other clinics in the northeast and the west coast.

U.S. Stem Cell will focus on our revenue generating programs that are treating patients NOW–which have successfully helped over 7000 patients thus far. Our company was founded in 1999 and has completed more clinical treatments (for both humans and animals) than any other regenerative medicine company in the world. In addition to our efforts at US Stem Cell Training and VetBiologics, our focus will be expanding and opening additional clinics throughout the U.S. to offer these cutting edge technologies to more patients.
